She became famous for playing Fiona Gallagher in the first two seasons of the UK television show Shameless. She then played The Virgin Queen Elizabeth I in The Virgin Queen (2006) and also the lead role in the TV series From Darkness in 2015. Duff was in roles like Enigma 2001 The Magdalene Sisters French Film 2008 The Last Station Nowhere Boy Before I go to Sleep (2015) as well as Suffragette. She was nominated for BAFTA awards in Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress in Shameless The Virgin Queen.
